Betty Beverly Paquet

April 14, 1941 — December 15, 2024

Betty Beverly Paquet, one of a kind, born on April 14, 1941, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, departed this world on December 15, 2024, in Vaughan, Ontario. Her warm spirit and gentle nature touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and acceptance.

Betty was best friend to her beloved husband, Joseph, and a nurturing mother to her children, Claudette (Peter), Michael (Sheila), Vanessa (Marc), Joseph, Yvonne, Creslin (Eric), Soula, Samuel, Samson (Jody) and John (Alejandra).

She embraced her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother with an unwavering strength, proudly taking on the persona of a true “Mamma Bear”; as she protected her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and anyone she thought needed her help. She had an extraordinary ability to love unconditionally and make those around her feel safe and understood. People often sought her advice, finding comfort in her non-judgmental perspective.

Her life was forever changed when she lost her son André in 2008. In 2020 she was devastated by the loss of her granddaughter Regis and more recently she lost Andrew, who she held very close in her heart. Betty’s memory will forever be intertwined with the laughter, joy, and love shared with her family and friends. She found immense happiness in gathering with her loved ones, celebrating life together in all its forms. Betty’s personality was a tapestry of inviting warmth, gentle kindness, and a beautiful spirit that uplifted others. She had a profound appreciation for the little things in life. She loved to laugh, she loved to cook and, of course, she loved to watch Coronation Street. Gospel music filled her home on Sunday’s, and she relished in singing and dancing, reminding all those around her of the joy in life. She will forever be remembered and greatly missed by her many sisters, brothers, her 27 grandchildren, and more than 20 greatgrandchildren, as well as her nieces, nephews, and friends.
