Conchita "Toots" Evidente

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Conchita Evidente also known as ‘Tita’ and ‘Toots’, at the age of 76, on February 11th, 2025 in Toronto. A beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend, Tita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Tita was born on December 16th, 1948 in Dagupan City, Philippines. She immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1974. She was a woman who exemplified courage, strength and tremendous generosity to her family and dearest friends throughout her full life. Tita was a marvelous cook and hostess who opened her home to anyone and everyone.

Tita’s greatest legacy was that she was an Artist. As a pianist, she was a pillar within the dance community in Canada and abroad. Tita knew everyone and everyone knew Tita. Her music and accompaniment in both ballet and modern disciplines were incomparable. She inspired so many of us through her music and artistry, influencing many dance practitioners and audiences within the field. Tita was feisty and always direct, yet her passion for music, dance and the arts was what made her who she was. We are so grateful to her for the sacrifices she made for her family and for her art.

Tita was preceded in death by her father, Zoilo Paragas and mother, Laura Paragas. She is survived by her devoted husband Eric, daughter Tanya, son Ivan (Sarah), grandson Adriano, and brother Sunny (Monina), as well as numerous friends and loved ones who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will take place on Thursday February 20th from 4pm - 8pm.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday February 21st at 11am with Interment to follow.

All services will take place at Westminster Funeral and Reception Centre, 5830 Bathurst Street, North York.

Reception to follow from 1pm - 4pm at Cummer Avenue United Church, 53 Cummer Avenue, North York.

Tita’s legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
