Today, we bid farewell to Domenico “Mimi” Terra, an amazing gentleman who lived an extraordinary life. He will be reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Emilia, his sister Nella and his brothers-in-law, Orazio and Tommaso.
Although Domenico was born in the quaint town of Silvi Paese in picturesque Abruzzo, Italy his life journey took him through many adventures and courageous decisions, leading him to his final resting place in Maple, Ontario.
Being the oldest of 5 children, Domenico learned to take on his role of guardian from a young age. He worked hard and did everything in his power to provide support for his family. His decision to move to England alone was a significant leap of faith which played a crucial role in shaping his success throughout his life.
Domenico was known for his hard work and intellect. He kept himself busy with various projects, big and small, and was a true Do-It-Yourself kind of man, whether that was home improvements or especially his love of gardening. He stayed informed and enjoyed intelligent conversations by reading and watching the news due to his curious nature.
Throughout his life, Domenico touched the hearts of many with his kind spirit and caring nature. His love for gardening was evident in the beautiful blooms he nurtured. He had an unwavering passion for sports, particularly Formula 1 racing and soccer. Forza Roma!
Those who had the opportunity to get to know Domenico will remember him for his dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be forever carried on by his surviving family. Loving father to Esther (Frank) and Adriano (Jill). Proud Nonno to Ariana, Tristan, and Jacob. Caring brother to Carlo (Vinia), Pilarina, Rosa (Berardo), uncle to his nephews and nieces, and companion to other close relatives and friends who were blessed by his presence.
In honouring Domenico’s life, let us celebrate the light he brought into our lives. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories we hold dear. Rest In Peace, Mimi.
