Felix Matiz, with his quick wit and love for storytelling, left this world on June 3, 2024, in Vaughan, Ontario. Born on July 24, 1948, in Udine, Italy, Felix's journey was filled with a profound appreciation for life's simple joys. May he be reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Mirella.
Known for his charming sense of humour and his passion for sharing anecdotes, Felix touched the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His eyes would light up when talking about his hobbies - from his love for boats and Western movies to his sweet tooth for desserts. Felix found solace in the presence of nature, often admiring trees and taking drives to revel in the beauty around him.
Beyond his hobbies, Felix cherished spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Connie (John), Christina (Bryan), Robert (Stefanie), Matthew (Kristina), and Daniel (Caitlin). Proud Grandpa to Martina (En), Diana (Adam), Anthony (Khristina), Nicole (Tyson), Lia (Jason), Victoria, Julian, Lukas, Elio, Lianna, Savannah & Keegan. Doting Great-Grandpa to Ariel & Theo. He also leaves behind his loving sister Mary and brother Joe.
A visitation to honor Felix's memory will be held at the Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre in Toronto on June 9th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and again from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on June 10th at 11:00 AM at the same location followed by a burial at the Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Felix Matiz's presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love that he shared so generously during his time with us.
In memory of Felix, please consider making a donation to the Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
