Filomena Lomonaco (née Locantore), beloved by many and cherished for her loving, caring and kind personality, passed away on March 3, 2024. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents Felicia and Rocco Locantore, sister Dina (Calogero DiCaro) and her beloved husband Vito. Filomena leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Survived by her loving brother Angelo (Anna) Locantore, and loving sister Anna (Nader Khodaparast).Cherished aunt to Jackie (Nunzio Di Lecce), Mary (Sam Doppido), Billy (Cathy) DiCaro, Luigi (Ilona) DiCaro, Gino (Giovanna) Locantore, Dario (Diana) Locantore, Marco Locantore, Tara and Faraz Khodaparast. Great aunt to Daniel, Charlie, Mia, Dina, Scarlett, Ivano, Massimo, Stefano, Marcus, Matteo, Luca, Daniel, and Noah. Filomena will also be sadly missed by many family members near and abroad.
She found joy in simple pleasures, often spending days tending to her vegetable garden and delighting in the art of cooking for her loved ones. Her culinary creations infused with love and care will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of savouring them. As we mourn her loss, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all those around her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved deeply and will never be forgotten.
If so desired donations can be made in memory of Filomena to SickKids Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Friday March 8, 2024 from 4-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Saturday March 9 at 10:00am with burial to follow at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum.
