Francesca Raddi

Francesca Raddi, beloved mother, Nonna, sister and aunt, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday July 2nd 2024. She was born on July 1, 1937 in Montescaglioso Italy to her loving parents the late Francesco Paolo and late Lucrezia Modugno. Francesca is survived by her beloved children Marisa (Jamie) and John (Lisa) who carry on her legacy of love and kindness. 

Cherished Nonna to Cole (Keenan), Matthew (Aira), and Alanna. 

Loving sister of Nunzia (Francesco), late Anna (Nicola), late Rocco (Francesca), late Biagio (Anna), Vincenzo (Palma) and late Vito (Giuseppina). Dear aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Francesca (or Franca as she was known to many) loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren who in turn loved their Nonna with all their hearts. 

She found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking delicious meals (she loved her pasta and made the best tomato sauce!), tending to her bountiful garden, and skillfully sewing beautiful creations.

In her professional career as a wedding dress consultant, Francesca’s keen eye for detail and impeccable taste transformed the dreams of brides-to-be into reality. Her warmth and understanding made every fitting session a joyful experience, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with her. 

Her great sense of humour and loyalty was appreciated by both family and friends. 

For the last nearly two years, Amica Erin Mills Retirement Residence had become her home. The staff provided exceptional care as they guided, supported and reassured Francesca and her loved ones through her diagnosis of vascular dementia. They provided a safe, warm and positive home that made her comfortable and happy. For this, her family is forever grateful.

In honouring Francesca’s memory, let us remember her for the warmth she exuded, the love she shared unconditionally, and the beauty she brought into the lives of those around her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was cherished beyond measure.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Francesca. 

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Sunday July 14 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Monday July 15, 2024 at 11:30am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
