Giovanna Sansone

Giovanna Sansone, born on December 22, 1944, in the warm embrace of her loving family, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, cherished memories. She was truly a beacon of kindness in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

For 59 beautiful years, she shared her journey with her beloved husband, Salvatore. Their love was a testament to commitment and partnership, nurturing a family that welcomed love and connection in every gathering. Giovanna’s heart and hands were always busy preparing feasts for family events, filling in the air with the enticing aromas of her cooking and baking. These moments became cherished memories, marked by laughter, stories, and the joy of being together.

Her legacy includes her dear child, Lucy, and son-in-law, Carlo, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Christina, and Micheal (Madison), who are embracing their lives with the same values she instilled in them. She was a proud great-grandmother to Camilla who will carry forward her loving spirit. Her siblings, although some have passed, remain part of her loving memory: the late Vito (Elisabetta), Antonietta (late Antonio), the late Anna (late Gianbattista), Giuseppe, Mario (Anna), Carmella, and the late Rosalba, as well as her parents, the late Rocco and Rosa Ottorino. Together, they made up the fabric of a family steeped in loving tradition.

As her family remembers her, they will always hold onto the lessons of love and compassion she imparted to them. Giovanna Sansone will forever remain in their hearts, a gentle soul whose loving sprit will guide them through the days ahead.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Wednesday October 30, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Thursday October 31, 2024 at 11:00am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
