Giovanni Di Biase

Giovanni Di Biase, born on June 8, 1928, in Vinchiaturo,Campobasso,Molise,Italy, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. A dedicated and hard-working individual, Giovanni's remarkable career took him across borders, as he worked in both the Czech Republic and England before establishing a life in Canada.

Giovanni was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words were filled with respect and kindness. He was well known for his saying, "La Vita é Personale," which encapsulated his philosophy on life. His gratitude was evident in his interactions with others, as he always took the time to express a heartfelt thank you. Giovanni’s gentle demeanor and sense of humor endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

His passion for family shone through in every aspect of his life. Giovanni adored his wife Antonietta, who stood by him through thick and thin. He was a devoted father to Angela (Luciano) and Frank, guiding them with his steadfast values. Giovanni took great pride in being a grandfather to Christina (Massimo), John (Cinzia), Robert (Serena) and Stefanie (Mark). His heart was filled with joy as he spent time with his great-grandchildren, Christian, Michael, Giacomo, Elise, Emilia and Nicolas.

In addition to his love for family, Giovanni had a variety of hobbies that brought him immense joy. He found peace and fulfillment in gardening, particularly cultivating his cherished tomatoes. His culinary skills were reflected in his traditional sausage-making and winemaking. Giovanni also enjoyed swimming, playing bocce, and engaging in Italian card games, showcasing his zest for life. Music was always a big part of Giovanni’s life, as he loved to dance and share joyous moments with family and friends.

He will be fondly remembered by his many family members, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service to honour Giovanni will be held on April 26, 2025, at the Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre in Toronto. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:15 AM. Giovanni will be interred afterward at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum at 12:00 PM.
