Iolanda Velocci

Iolanda Velocci, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in North York, Ontario, at the age of 94. Born on December 27, 1930, in Veroli, Frosinone, Italy, Iolanda's journey through life was one of love, resilience, and exceptional culinary talent that left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure to know her.

Iolanda was the heart of her family, whose warmth and spirit resonated through her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Bernardo, with whom she shared an incredible 63 years of marriage filled with affection and cherished memories. Together, they built a beautiful family that has continued to flourish, rooted in the values Iolanda instilled.

She is survived by her loving children: Savina (Lorenzo), Pietro, and Maria (Tony), each of whom carries forward her legacy of kindness and strength. Iolanda's grandchildren, Tony (Diana), Antonella (Enzo), Linda (Kamil), Daniel (Samantha), Amanda (Allan), and Erica held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. Her legacy further extends to her adoring great-grandchildren: Lorenzo, Adrianna, Paolo, Alessandro, Ariel, London, Alessia, Daniela, Giuliano, and Giancarlo, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Siblings Maria (late Giulio), late Assunta, and Arduino (Maria) remember her fondly, as do countless friends and extended family members whose lives she touched.

Iolanda's passion for cooking and baking was not just a hobby; it was her way of nurturing and expressing love. Her kitchen was always alive with the rich aromas of her delicious dishes, a gathering place where stories were shared and laughter echoed.

Iolanda Velocci's spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her. Her legacy of love, family unity, and culinary artistry will forever remain in the hearts of those she left behind.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Iolanda to the Alzheimer's Society.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Wednesday April 9, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Thursday April 10, 2025 at 10:00am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
