It is with heavy hears that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Mother-In-Law, Irene Maydansky, on Wednesday September 4th in North York, Ontario.
Irene was born in the village of Shemanikha in Russia to Klavdia and Konstantin Krasilnikov, and was the youngest of 6 children. After a rural childhood, she moved to the city of Lviv in Ukraine where she studied at a professional school to become a seamstress. Lviv is also where she met and married her husband, and where their two children were born. Irene and her family moved to Canada in the 80's, where they put down roots, studied English as a Second Language, and enjoyed strong friendships with friends in London and Toronto.
Irene is survived by her husband Gregory, son Mark (Natasha), daughter Elena (Jan), as well as grandchildren Julia, Jacob, Katy and Tomas.
With Irene's passing, the world lost a most loving, generous and friendly presence. Irene loved family visits, especially with her cherished grandchildren. She made friends everywhere she went, and if you were a regular in her life, you would hear her say "I am fine when I see you". Although we mourn her loss, we are grateful for the time we had with her and for the love we shared.
All funeral arrangements will be held in private, and we ask that you kindly respect our family's privacy during this very difficult time.
