Laica Tolentino, a cherished daughter and beloved sister, passed away on January 22, 2025, at the tender age of 29. Born on March 5, 1995, her vibrant and kind spirit brought joy and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She had a talent of capturing moments, always ready to take a selfie and create lasting memories with her sisters, Edelyn, and Laura. They shared many fun-filled evenings enjoying live music and attending concerts, creating a special bond through their love of rhythm and melody. Together, they engaged in playful gaming sessions on Xbox, where competition and companionship went hand in hand. Laica’s love for life extended to her beloved dog, Esco who was always at her side, bringing her comfort and joy. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Eduardo and Llewilyn, who cherished every moment with their radiant daughter. The love and warmth she exuded will forever remain a guiding light for her family, and her memory will be celebrated in the simplest of joys she brought to everyday life.

Laica dedicated her career to the hospitality industry, where her kindness and dedication shone brightly. Yet, it was her personal endeavors that her true passions came alive. She was often found in the kitchen, creating delightful meals, drinks and desserts, always gathering her family around the table. One of her most memorable dishes was a delicious apple crumble she recently made, a testament of her love for cooking and the special moments it fostered with her family.

Her vibrant spirit, her boundless love for family, and her joyful nature will be eternally remembered. Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, and Friday, January 31 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:00am. A private family burial to follow at Westminster Cemetery.

Laica was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and depression. She was strong and fought for years against depression and the voices in her head. The pain of her struggles became too much to bear and she took her life on January 22, 2025.
