Maria Giovanna Memmo

Maria will be dearly missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing her. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Luigi; her caring father, Emidio; and her loving mother, Amalia. Maria's memory will forever live on through her children, Emilio, Danny, and Luciano. Maria found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren. The love they shared created lasting bonds that will transcend beyond her physical presence. Maria's grandchildren, Grace, Christian, and Luke were the light of her life, her little birdies. Whether it was time in the kitchen together or asking them how their day was and recounting stories about her childhood, Nonna cherished every moment spent with them. She will also be missed by her four-legged friend, Kelly the dog. Kelly made her smile every day and every single time she held her in her arms. She will also be sorely missed by her sisters, Rosa and Nella, and family.

In the kitchen, the aroma of her delicious creations filled the house and brought people together and created unforgettable memories.

Maria's kindheartedness extended far beyond her immediate family. She had an incredible knack for making friends and nurturing lifelong relationships. Her warm smile and genuine interest in others' lives made it easy to feel comfortable in her presence. Maria touched the lives of many with her compassion and selflessness.

The services to honour Maria's remarkable life will be held at the Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre located at 5826 Bathurst St in Toronto, ON M2R 1Y6, Canada. The visitation will take place on August 31, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during this time. The funeral service will be held on September 1st, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery. 

In this time of profound grief, may Maria's family find solace in the memories they shared together—the laughter that filled their home and the love that bound them as one. They are not alone in their grief but surrounded by a community of friends who loved Maria as their own. The legacy of Maria Giovanna Memmo will continue to blossom through the memories cherished by all those whose lives she touched. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us remember her zest for life and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

Rest in peace, Mama. Your light will forever shine bright in our hearts. And though you may be gone, your love will remain with us always. We all love you and miss you.
