Maria Tomassi

Maria Tomassi, a cherished seamstress, beloved mother, Nonna, and Bis-Nonna, peacefully departed this life on April 14, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on April 1, 1936, Maria was an extraordinary woman whose spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Described as friendly, sociable, and very smart, Maria possessed a fearless heart that radiated love and warmth. For 62 beautiful years, she was married to her beloved husband Pasquale, who has since passed away but remains deeply missed. Together, they crafted a life rich in family and affection, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure through generations.

Maria held a special place in the hearts of her family. Loving mother to Rico (Anita), Laura and Sandra. Proud Nonna to Nicole, Derek, Eric (Sandra), Marco (Mary) and Julia (Matt). They will remember her as a nurturing figure who always made time for laughter and joy. She took immense delight in her greatgrandchildren, Lorenzo, Anthony, Emma, Patrick & Luca, who brought her boundless happiness. Every moment spent with her family was filled with stories, laughter, and the sweet aroma of her cooking and baking that brought everyone together.

With a keen interest in gardening, Maria found peace digging in the earth, nurturing the plants just as she nurtured her family. Her love for creating beauty around her was a reflection of the vibrant life she lived.

A visitation to celebrate the life of Maria Tomassi will take place on April 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre, located at 5826 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON. The following day, on April 17, there will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM, followed by her entombment at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum at 11:45 AM.

As we gather to honour this remarkable woman, we remember her laughter, her kindness, and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Maria Tomassi leaves behind a legacy of love, one woven into the very fabric of her family. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
