Mario Giovanniello

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Mario Giovanniello who passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 84 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was born on October 14, 1939, in Sturno, Pr. Avellino, Italy. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Giuseppina (nee: Capobianco). Cherished father to his children Mina (Fernando), although Michelle passed away, her memory will always be cherished and live on through her husband Valentino. Beloved grandfather to Mario (Sofija), Matteo (Jenna), Stefania, and Massimo. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his siblings late Maria (late Gioacchino), Carmelina (late Stefano), late Florino (Alfonzina), Paolo (Rosaria), Teresa (late Tannuccio), late Alduccia (late Guglelmo), as well brother-and sister-in-laws late Cora (Nicola), late Domenico (Silvana), Gerardina (late Gerardo) and Silvana. Mario also leaves behind his many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy, Chile, Argentina and Switzerland.

Mario’s unique perspective and passionately opinionated nature have left an indelible mark. His absence will be felt, but the legacy of his distinctive thinking will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. He will forever be cherished for his loving nature and warm spirit. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Thursday May 23, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Friday May 24 at 11:00am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum.
