Marlene Schlasky

Marlene Schlasky, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 27th, 2023 at the age of 83.

Born on June 8th, 1940, Marlene brought joy and love to everyone she encountered throughout her remarkable life. She touched the hearts of many with her infectious smile, kind spirit, and unwavering compassion.

Marlene's memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband of over five decades, Harry Schlasky. Their love was a testament to the power of commitment and partnership. Together, they built a strong foundation for their family and created countless beautiful memories.

Marlene was a dedicated and caring mother to her children Brenda McConnell and Keith Schloskey. She instilled in them the values of kindness and perseverance that became pillars of their lives. Marlene's unconditional love provided them with the strength to pursue their dreams and embrace life fully.

As a grandmother to Jack Schlifer, Michael Croft (Nikki Croft), Justin Schloskey, and a great-grandmother to Aurora Schloskey-McKenzie, Marlene's impact extended across generations. She showered them with affection and guided them through life's challenges with wisdom gained from her own experiences.

Marlene valued the importance of family bonds and cherished her relationships with her brother Bob Weiser, sister Barbra Swyer, and niece Nicole Swyer. With each gathering or shared moment together, their connection grew stronger. Marlene's warmth made every family gathering special and filled with laughter.

Throughout her life journey, Marlene touched the lives of many friends who will forever remember her as a selfless confidante. Her compassionate heart left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

Marlene Schlasky's departure from this world is met with both sorrow and gratitude for the positive influence she had on those around her. She will be deeply missed but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family invites you to come celebrate her life with them and share memories on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00am.
