Michele Misasi

Michele Misasi passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at the age of 91. Michele was born on May 1st, 1933 in Malito, Cosenza, Italy. He later immigrated to Canada in December 1952. In 1955, he married his wife Teresa and they celebrated almost 70 years of marriage together. He was the loving father of three beautiful daughters, Frances (Frank), Mary-Jo (Corrado), and the late Nancy (Paul). He was the cherished Nonno to Teresa (Adam), Paolo (Sally), Michelle (Adam), Rosario (Bianca), Michele, Paolo (Claudia) and Adriano. He was a great grandfather to Sofia, Chiara, Christian and Gabriel, who affectionately called him Nonno Mike.

When Michele arrived in Canada in 1952, he began working with CN Rail. He then moved on to his career as a machine operating engineer, for over 50 years, beginning with Cliffside Pipelayers in 1957 and retiring at the age of 72 with Aecon in 2005.

He had a strong work ethic and always provided for his family to ensure that they were able to achieve their goals. One of his great passions was his garden full of fruits and vegetables, especially his many tomato plants, and fig trees. 

Michele always maintained his compassion, grit and love of family and friends. He will forever be remembered for being a big hearted, generous and a gentle soul whose love for his family was larger than life. His legacy will live on forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers and if so desired, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
