Pasquale Buccieri

Pasquale Buccieri was a man of remarkable character—strong-willed and exceptionally tender-hearted passed away peacefully at Hospice Vaughan on January 9, 2025. Born on May 19,1940 in Cosenza, Calabria. He immigrated to Canada in 1963 and married his beloved wife of 61 years, Isabella, who stood by his side through thick and thin, a testament to their enduring love. He will also be dearly missed by his children, Mary (the late John) and Nadia (Jim), who looked up to him as their guiding light. Pasquale took great joy in his role as a grandfather, cherishing his grandchildren: Anthony, Michael (Rachel), Natalie, Aidan, and Adam, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness into his life. He was also the loving great-grandfather to Theodore (Teddy). Cherished brother to Teresa (the late Francesco), Antonio (Laura) & Lucia (Armando). He lived for his family, pouring love and devotion into every moment shared. His warmth and affection resonated deeply, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his loved ones. May he be reunited in Heaven with his siblings Anna, Francesco, Silvana, and Marcello, who now welcome him with open arms in eternal rest.

Pasquale’s passions were as rich and varied as his spirit. He embraced life in all its flavors, indulging in cooking, wine making, and vegetable gardening. He loved to cook traditional Calabrese foods that nourished his family and guests with the flavours of his heritage. He relished the art of sausage making and found joy in the camaraderie of bocci games and afternoons spent playing cards and was a proud fan of both the Napoli Soccer Club and the Italian National Team. 

Pasquale’s legacy will live on in the cherished memories shared with his family and friends. His unwavering strength and tender heart will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will take place at the Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre in Toronto on January 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service in his honour will be held the following day at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Westminster Cemetery & Mausoleum at 10:45 AM.

As we bid farewell to Pasquale, let us celebrate a life well-lived, one filled with love, laughter, and familial bonds as unbreakable as those he cherished deeply.
