Paul Mastrangelo
(Francesco Paolo Mastrangelo)
January 25, 1943 - September 1, 2023
Peacefully passed away at Hospice Vaughan at the age of 80.
Born in Anzano di Puglia to father Marco Mastrangelo and mother Felicia Amicola Mastrangelo of Acadia, Foggia.
Beloved husband to Maria (Perrotta). Loving and dedicated father to Melissa (Tony Bruno). Cherished grandfather to Alessia and Mia.
Father to Lisa, granddaughter Shantel, Son Mark, and grandson Paul.
Much loved brother to Concettina (Tony), Ines (Mario), Marco (Esterina), Rocco (Virgina), Lina (Pasquale), and Lenny (Angela).
Much loved by sister in law Linda (Gino) and brother in law Nick (Kathy).
He will sadly be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended families and friends.
Paul started his career as a hairdresser in Owen Sound. He then purchased Central Coiffure Salon in Port Credit with his partner Armando. Shortly after he decided to work along side his brother Rocco at Cafe Diplomatico and eventually became part owner. Paul dedicated over 4 decades to the iconic landmark known as “the Dip.” In 2016 Paul decided to retire from the restaurant to enjoy winters in Florida and summers at Sherkston Shores with Maria.
Paul was a mild mannered, gentle, kind-hearted man who would literally give the shirt off his back to help family and friends alike. In his youth Paul dabbled in amateur boxing. Poker and Italian card games filled his free time. Paul was a lover of vintage cars and motorcycles, especially his 1957 Corvette, 1957 Thunderbird, and Harley Davidson. He loved animals and delighted in training his German Sheppards and Dobermans. Loved all music especially the oldies and Italian tunes, but by far Elvis was his idol.
Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Volunteers at Cortelucci Vaughan Hospital, Mackenzie Health, and Hospice Vaughan. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the PSWs and Nurses that cared for Paul several times a day for the past 2 years.
A sincere thanks to Dr. Lorne Sidenberg who has been our family Doctor for over 45 years.
