The Le Neveu family (Toronto) announce with great sadness the passing of Ronald Le Neveu on May 30th, 2023, at the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Ron was the beloved husband of Mary Le Neveu (nee Cameron) for 59 years. He was the son of the late Alan and Helen Le Neveu of Ottawa and brother of the late Arthur Le Neveu of Ottawa. Ron was a dedicated and loving father to David (Nancy) and Catherine (John); and the proud and loving grandfather of Micheal (Emily), Jonathan and Madeline. Also the loving great grandfather to Joseph. Ron cherished his wife and family dearly and took great pleasure in partaking in family trips, parties, and dinners as well as having long in-depth conversations with many. Ron and Mary’s house was a home to several family members, who at different times lived with them. Relatives valued Ron’s sound advice, keen intellect and his adept gift for story-telling. However, his ingenious treasure hunts created for family events cannot be forgotten. Ron enjoyed time spent with close friends in a variety of capacities: book clubs, bridge clubs, parties, Probus, season games for the Blue Jays as well as vacations with friends at Charleston Lake, Ontario and Sarasota, Florida. Although Ron made and cherished many dear friends throughout his life; he was especially grateful for the lifetime friendships formed in his early years at St. Pat’s. As a young man, Ron worked on an Arctic steamship, finished his Degree in Commerce and then dabbled in a Master’s of Economics degree before embarking on his career. Ron’s career included working both in the private sector, at Bell Canada and later in the public sector with the Ontario provincial government in Cabinet Office, Management Board, Treasury, Northern Affairs and Health. Ron completed his career as a university lecturer. Despite an interesting career, close friends and family, Ron was most grateful for his devoted and loving wife, Mary. Ron’s retirement years were spent serving on charitable boards and organizations. What was unique about Ron’s life was that he lived a full life, despite being born in an era where people with physical challenges were so often unable to lead a normal life. Consequently, Ron’s approach to life was that of courage, quiet determination, patience and humility. In sum, Ron’s impact on those who were dear, was profound. A private burial and service will be at a later date. For those interested in making a donation, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made to:
