It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruggero D’Ambrosio on July 9, 2024, at Brampton Civic Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ruggero was the dedicated husband of Rosina D’Ambrosio for over 58 years. He was the devoted father of Daniela (Giancarlo), Tony, and Dino (Julie), the cherished grandfather to Alessandra (Michael-David), Natasha (Jesse), Ella-Rose, Olivia, Sebastian, Massimo, and Isabella, and the adored great-grandfather (Big Nonno) to Theodore, Elizabeth, Scarlett, and Julian.
Ruggero was born in Parenti, Italy, on April 28, 1937, to Maria and Antonio D’Ambrosio. He was the most adventurous out of his siblings and at the age of 18, he moved to France where he worked for 9 years. In 1965, he immigrated to Canada to marry the love of his life, Rosina. They spent 14 years in Canada and then re-established their roots in Mangone, Cosenza, for 7 years. Their journey continued as they returned to Canada for better opportunities for their family, where they remained ever since.
Ruggero’s 87 years of life cannot be summed up in a few words, but he will be remembered by his friends and family for his unique sense of humor, dedication to his family, strong work ethic, and creativity.
Ruggero will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as well as all those whose hearts he touched along the way. His spirit will live on in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in memory of Ruggero D’Ambrosio. Please see link below.
