Salvatore LaMonica at 85 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 31st, 2024, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie with his loving family by his side. Salvatore has decided to reunite with the love of his life Angela, after only 3 months of being apart. Salvatore was a devoted and unwavering loving father to his children Josie (Bruno), Vincenza (Amilcar), Paolo (Lina) and an adoring grandfather to his grandchildren Christina (Daniel), Vanessa (Nicholas), Joshua (Julia), Tessa, Anthony, Julian and Katia, in which he spent endless moments in conversations, teaching them life’s lessons by instilling the importance of family, love and respect for all. Salvatore was blessed to be a great-grandfather to Chloe, Nico, Gemma, Olivia and Gio whom all lit up his smile with tenderness.

Salvatore will be sadly missed by his loving siblings, Carmelo (Rosa), Giuseppe (Antoinetta) and united with his brother Calogero (Grazia), and sisters Francesca (Carmelo), Angela (Ignazio). He will join his brother-in-law Giuseppe (Giacoma) and sweet sister-in-law Giuseppina and leave behind his brother-in-laws Calogero (Rosa), Angelo (Giuseppina) and Antonio (Donna) with great sadness. Salvatore will be truly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Salvatore’s kind spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gardener who couldn’t wait to share the harvest with his family and friends. A fisherman at heart, who marked every catch with a photo and inviting all to come for a meal. His love for nature blossomed on his property with many different flowers, plants and trees. Salvatore was a man with many talents, a man with many roles, a man who supported, a man who embraced life with love, laughter and unity. May Salvatore continue to light up the sky with his compassion, generosity and love for all.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Salvatore to Simcoe Hospice and Make a Wish Foundation

Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St. between Finch and Steeles on the west side), located on the grounds of Westminster Cemetery, it is the first building on your left. The family will receive guests on Friday August 9, 2024 from 2-4pm & 6-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Trillium Chapel of Westminster on Saturday August 10, 2024 at 10:30am with entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
