Teresa Mandarino

Surrounded by her family, Teresa (Teresina) Gervasi Mandarino passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, at the age of 91 in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy on December 6, 1932, Teresa was a cherished pillar of strength and wisdom in her family. Teresa is survived by her loving daughters, Franca (Mario) Filippelli, Connie Mandarino, and Silvia Pisano. She was the proud Nonna & Grandmother of Domenic (Lynn), Pino (Antoniette), Nancy, Lisa (Johnny) and Frank (Cristina). Forever cherished Bisnonna and Great-Grandmother to Ryleigh, Cayden, Gianmario, Veronica, Gabriel, Sylena, Arianna, and Alessio. 

She also leaves behind her sister Maria and brother-in-law Luigi Mandarino in Canada, brother Franco and sister-in-law Sarina Gervasi in Italy, sister-in-law Lina Gervasi in Italy, as well as many extended family, friends, and loved ones. Her spirit will continue to resonate within their hearts and all who loved her. She was predeceased by her loving parents Nicola and Giuseppina Gervasi, brother & sister-in law Alfredo and Annunziata Gervasi, brother Guerino Gervasi, and her son Andrea Mandarino, whose beloved memories she carried with her throughout her life. In 1955, Teresa immigrated from her hometown in Italy to start a new life in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The courage and determination she displayed during this journey showcased the resilience and strength she carried all her life. Her warm smile, laugh, and love will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but they will also serve as a constant reminder of her beautiful spirit. Visitation will be held at Westminster Funeral & Reception Centre (5826 Bathurst St, Toronto) on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00am within the Trillium Chapel at Westminster Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Westminster Cemetery (5830 Bathurst St., Toronto).
