TINA DEREZA (nee CAPPARELLI)

April 27, 1952 – MAY 4, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the news of Tina's passing. Her brave fight against cancer came to a peaceful end on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 72 years old. She leaves behind her devoted husband and "friend," George, alongside her loving daughter Tanya, son-in-law Domenic Pagliaroli, and cherished grandchildren Tessa and Luca.

Tina was preceded in death by her sister Clara and her parents, Concettina and Antonio Capparelli. 

Numerous friends and extended family members will fondly remember Tina. Her kindness and unwavering support, always ready to listen and offer her time to those in need, have left an indelible mark. She was a loyal and dependable friend to many, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her.

With a career spanning over five decades in accounting, Tina took great pride in her work, particularly cherishing the early years when she collaborated with vibrant colleagues.

A special thank you to Donina Lombardi and Ron Wright for their unwavering support and friendship, which brought comfort during difficult times. Their regular visits, adorned with even the smallest gifts, warmed Tina's heart and lifted her spirits. Their presence was a beacon of love, offering solace and a diversion from her illness, providing much-needed relief and joy.

We offer our heartfelt gratitude to all who supported Tina during this difficult time. In particular, we express our profound appreciation to Rocco Mastrangelo and Café Diplomatico and Licia Hudecki for their steadfast support during Tina's journey. 

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. William Etzkorn for his compassionate care and prayers over the years and to Dr. Howard Clasky of Scarborough General Hospital for honoring Tina's final wishes and creating an atmosphere of healing and comfort with his empathetic approach.

A sincere thank you to Sahra W. for her comforting presence and to Vivian B., Tina's PSW, for bringing many smiles to Tina's face.

Cremation has already occurred, and a memorial service will be held at the chapel in Westminster Cemetery, 5826 Bathurst Street, North York, on Saturday, May 11, at 2:30 pm.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Tina will profoundly sense her loss. A celebration honoring her life will be planned shortly.
